Fix This! Musical Instrument Repair first started in 2000 and moved to our current location in the northwest Chicago suburb of Palatine, IL in 2009. We offer the finest quality professional brass and woodwind repairs at competitive prices to musicians of all levels and ages throughout the Chicagoland area. Our Palatine location is conveniently located at 742-746 E Northwest Hwy in Palatine, about 2 blocks northwest of IL Route 53 and about ½ mile from the Arlington Park Metra train station (Union Pacific Northwest UP-NW Metra line).

Our professional woodwind and brass repair technicians are all accomplished musicians and have more than 35 years of combined experience in instrument repair. We do our best to accommodate musicians’ schedules and can arrange next-day or same-day appointments if necessary and when possible.

Fix This! repair customers include local individuals such as beginner, intermediate, and professional musicians, as well as schools and other organizations from across the country. We always strive to be honest with every customer when giving estimates for a repair, even if that means a repair may not be the most cost-effective solution. At Fix This! we won’t try to sell you repairs you don’t need – instead we will give you honest options, expert service, and maintenance advice from our staff of professional musicians.

In 2012 we adopted the name of our retail division, Horn Stash, to better reflect the instrument and accessory sales and rentals we offer. Through Horn Stash, we also sell new, used, and vintage instruments at the very same Palatine location (just one suite over from our original 2009 space). Our sales customers now include professionals and organizations throughout the world!

In 2015 we expanded to the next unit over (suite 742) and created a visually stunning and acoustically superb recital hall, where we host musical events from individual instrument play-testing and lessons, to special product demonstrations, recitals, masterclasses, big-band rehearsals, jazz band performances, garage sales, and more.

While our address is technically 746 E Northwest Hwy, our main entrance door is Suite 744 that provides customers access to all our retail, repair, and recital spaces. We look forward to serving our musician community from our Palatine location for many decades to come!
